HOW TO CHOOSE A SWIMMING POOL LINER
Whether you already have a pool or are considering installing one, choosing a pool liner can be one of the most enjoyable items to add to your backyards overall design. It is essential to select a pool liner that best enhances the desired aesthetic of your backyard. Pool colour is a significant variable of pool design. Your Liner largely contributes to the colour of your pool water.
Before choosing the right pool, Liner, you should consider a few factors: How much sunlight does your pool get? Is your pool shaded by trees or other obstructions? Do you tend to swim during the day or at night? By asking yourself these questions ahead of time, it will help you choose the colour and pool liner pattern you want.
Steps to Find the Right Liner
INGROUND / ONGROUND
For in-ground and on-ground pools, you are more than likely to have a simple Standard Bead liner that installs easily into the pools coping.
ABOVE GROUND POOL LINER TYPES
With an Overlap Liner, you have the option of Flat Coping or Round Horseshoe Coping, which will be determined by the type of pool wall you have. With a Standard Bead Liner, the U/J Bead uses the J-Hook Coping, Universal Bead, which can use both J-Hook and Standard Bead Receiver, and our Standard Bead Receiver.

An overlap liner is a simple installation method that wraps the liner directly over the top of the pool wall, then clipped in place.
With a standard bead liner, the liner’s top portion features a predesigned hook that fits directly into a track located at the top of the pool wall.
A universal bead liner can be installed with both standard bead receivers or directly to the wall, as is done with the overlap liner.
The U/J Bead is an easy to install option. Unibead hook and J hook liners are very close in design. U-hook liners are shaped like an upside-down J, which goes over the pool wall using a track. J-hooks hang the liner of the pool wall.
This step will help you better understand how the liner colour changes from the shallow end to the deep end, hardscape to foliage, or the sun to shade. Taking this into account now will help your overall pool design later.
You already know the colour of the liner you want, but now is the time to consider whether you want that colour in a mosaic tile pattern, a flowing water pattern, a speckled pattern, or even a pebble pattern…
FULL PATTERN liners carry the design continuously throughout the pool, all the way to the coping, without a border.
BORDER PATTERN liners have a border design to create a styled top edge around the pool.
